Born and brought up in Yorkshire, I have also lived in Norfolk, Surrey and Scandinavia, before returning to my Yorkshire roots.
So far I’ve traced my Yorkshire ancestry back to the 1600s, but also discovered my family tree has branches reaching around Britain, including Wales, Northumberland, Cornwall and Oxfordshire, all of which somehow resulted in me being born in the middle!
I have a lifelong interest in history, and have studied various aspects of British and European history at degree level.
With sixteen years experience of family history research, both my own family and others, I also hold an Advanced Diploma in Local History from the University of Oxford.
